March 18 (Bloomberg) — Private prison contractors, such as Tennessee-based Corrections Corp. of America, are profiting from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement efforts to detain illegal immigrants, Bloomberg Businessweek reports in its March 21 edition. CCA has current contracts with ICE and other federal clients, as well as 19 state prison systems.
